The Secret Circuit That Will Finally Let You Build Your Own Hoverboard

I have always dreamed of having my own real working hoverboard, just like in Back to the Future. For years, this technology seemed out of reach. But a secret circuit design may finally make it possible for hobbyists like me to build a hoverboard at home.

How Hoverboards Work

Hoverboards levitate off the ground using redirected thrust. Powerful propellers on the bottom of the board push air downward. This creates an upward force called lift that makes the hoverboard float.

Key components of a hoverboard:

Getting all these complex components to work together has made hoverboards challenging to engineer. But this new secret circuit finally provides a solution.

The Secret Circuit

An anonymous hobbyist recently revealed a custom circuit board design that makes building a hoverboard much easier. I stumbled upon schematics for this secret hoverboard circuit on an obscure online forum.

Here's how it works:

In other words, most of the tricky wiring and electronics are already handled by the circuit board. We just have to connect the components.

Sourcing Parts

With the custom PCB, we now just need a few parts:

Brushless motors provide efficiency and high rpm for generating thrust. I plan to get 4 smaller motors rather than 2 large ones for better control and stability.

The batteries supply the juice to drive the motors. Two 5,000 mAh LiPo packs should provide 10-15 minutes of ride time.

Finally, the baseboard houses all the components. A shaped carbon fiber board will provide strength while keeping weight low.

These parts are readily available online or at hobby shops. The secret circuit makes it much simpler to connect them into a working hoverboard.

Assembly

Here are the steps to assemble your DIY hoverboard:

  1. Solder components onto the custom PCB.
  2. Screw the motors into mounts on the baseboard.
  3. Connect the motor wires and battery to the circuit board.
  4. Secure the batteries and PCB onto the baseboard.
  5. Download open-source flight control firmware.
  6. Upload firmware to the board via USB.
  7. Calibrate the sensors.

With all the electronics and programming handled by the circuit, the assembly is surprisingly straightforward. Just connect all the parts together and upload the firmware.

Hovering into the Future

This secret circuit board finally brings hoverboard technology within reach of makers and hobbyists. While still challenging, the simplification makes DIY hoverboards achievable at home. I can't wait to start sourcing parts and get building! My dream of hovering down the street on my own Back to the Future-style board is closer than ever.
